of the questions and comments we kept hearing when we first told our friends that Jeffrey had tragically been taken from us, at the age of 15, as a result of an immune deficiency disorder. Few had ever heard of it, and even less
could understand what had happened. When we started The Jeffrey Modell Foundation we dedicated ourselves to educating physicians and the public to bring greater awareness to this group of diseases. That is why we feel it is so
important to bring the message to the US Congress, The National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and the US Surgeon General. With education and greater awareness, there can be earlier diagnosis and effective
treatment. We can save the lives of our children in the future and none of us will ever hear again, "Primary What?"
