Dear Vicky and Fred,

My name is Patty McGuire. My family and I were fortunate enough to meet you two at the JMF Boston Kids day in June. Thank you so much for being there that day and for speaking with us!

I have enclosed the pictures I took of you and our son Scott that day. He wasn't feeling well that day, but cherishes the events of that day. He just kept saying, "I can't believe I got to meet the Modells!" He was thrilled - we all were.

Scott has had a tough summer. But he is such a fighter. I am writing this now from Boston Children's hospital in Scott's room. He had his tonsils out today. Hopefully, this will be a turning point for him and put him in a healthier direction.

I do want to take the time to thank both of you for so many things. For starting the JMF for us, your research efforts, public awareness, for being in Boston in June for us to finally meet, and for turning your loss and sadness into support and love for families like ours. To say "Thank you" for all that seems so insignificant. But please know that it comes from the bottom of my heart!

Enjoy the photos, and know that you have made a huge difference and influence in that little boy's life!
