JMF TO SPONSOR WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION CONFERENCE
Planning Begins For 2001 Lucerne Switzerland Meeting

Initial plans are now underway in organizing the World Health Organization conference for July 2001. Vicki and Fred Modell began steps for site selection with Dr. Reinhard Seger, Director of the Division of Immunology, Hematology and Infectious Diseases at Kinderspital, Zurich Switzerland. Preliminary sites have been selected for the Immunodeficiency Symposium, the meeting of the WHO Expert Committee on Immunodeficiency, hotels, and related events, all in the Lucerne, Switzerland vicinity.

The WHO meeting is held every two to three years. This will be the third such World Health Organization meeting sponsored by the Jeffrey Modell Foundation. Previous conferences sponsored by JMF were in Baden, Austria in 1998, and Bristol, England in 1996. Dr. Fred Rosen, President of The Center for Blood Research at Harvard Medical School, will organize the academic portion of the meeting including topics and selection of speakers.
