TO RUSSIA WITH HOPE

Dr. Igor Resnick, Chief of the Department of Clinical Immunology at the Research Institute for Pediatric Hematology in Moscow has frequently participated as a speaker at Jeffrey Modell Foundation symposia over the past years. Dr. Resnick is one of the world's leading immunologists and is considered the most important scientist/researcher in immunodeficiency in Russia. He translated JMF's 10 Warning Signs poster into Russian and distributed them throughout Russia.

The economic conditions in Russia do not allow for Dr. Resnick and his small group of enthusiastic clinical immunologists to receive scientific journals that will keep them up to date. In an effort to support his important work in basic and clinical research, and clinical care, the JMF has arranged for Dr. Resnick to receive the world's most prestigious scientific journals on an ongoing basis. This will allow Dr. Resnick and his group to keep up with the latest developments in immunodeficiency diseases and exchange research information with immunologists worldwide. As a member of the W.H.O. expert committee on immunodeficiency, it is anticipated that Dr. Resnick will appear at the conference scheduled for Lucerne Switzerland in 2001.
